The department of surgery at the Faculty of Medicine held its first annual conference

Under the patronage of president of the university Prof.Dr.Ali Mahmood Alshmmari, the department of Surgery has held the first surgical conference; in association with ACINO medicinal company, under the emblem" the scientific progress support our fight against terrorism  " 

Professors from London and lecturers from Najaf, Dewanya and Kerbala have given lectures on different  topics.

The discussions of  the  conference were in two fields: the first one :"Breast conserving surgery" regarding the scientific progress in breast surgery for malignant neoplasm. The second one:  " management of Morbid obesity".

Additionally , within the conference schedule, a workshop in Alsader Medical City about making an endoscopic operation to reduce the size of the stomach and then re-connect the intestines with the stomach to treat the cases of obesity.
